1. Wouldn't it be irresponsible to come in, take out Saddam along with the Iraqi government, and leave? It would plunge the country into a state worse than the one it is in now. Who knows who'd be in power next.
2. "[P]rofit a lot more" doesn't mean we're not profiting right now or won't be in the future, just means that there are possibly better alternatives to the currently implemented solution.

You have to understand that I'm not stating my own opinions. I don't think that the war in Iraq was a good decision. But *in theory* all of these points hold. And since we decided not to decide by living in a country with indirect democracy, we can only speculate as to what would happen, were we the ones making decisions.

Also, I usually tend to think that we-as regular people-simply don't have enough information/intel to decide whether or not the government is making the right choices.
