Actually, "I am traveling a lot" and "I'm well traveled" have two pretty different meanings...
You can say "I'm traveling a lot" for work, which basically means - fly in, take a cab to your meeting, then stay overnight at a hotel and go back to the airport in the morning.
"Well traveled" means someone who has traveled for pleasure to see different places and actually spend time in them... Its a perfectly fine phrase...
