My hearing:
- the cop tells his story (saying that I went straight from the "for left turn only" lane)
- I tell my story in 3 sentences (was going in the left lane, saw the sign, stopped to let cars pass, changed the lane - before the intersection.)
- the judge asked the cop: any comments?
- the cop: "she was cutting the traffic"
- the judge: "guilty"
- I : "May I ask the officer a question?" (I wanted to ask why then the ticket was for obscuring the view, not for straight from left lane)
- the judge: "the hearing is over, mam."
It took less than 5 minutes.
I was the third one. The previous two were even shorter.
1: - She failed to stop at two stop sign.
- I slowed down.
- Guilty.
2. - He passed on the red light.
- Your honor, the officer is right, and I am sorry. But the light was just changing its color.
- Guilty.
Interesting enough that the judge was a lady who made an eye contact, seemed to listen, and gave an impression that she did not do this mechanically.
