ok.. i called the landlord and yelled at him koz he alwaysa asked me to recommend tennants..
SO - in brief

1) he might have some studos for $650 but you gotta call and leave your number - when its on the market - he wil let you know
2) in is upper west - 160s and 170s (i think he has more but i dunno)
it IS LATIN neighbourhood.... SAFE as you have no idea.. i've been living there 2 years and i love it for:
1) apartments are big with big kithens and high ceilings - and beleive me MUCH moe then manhattan cages... (i've seen a 1 bdrm on 20 smth and 70 smth - by bathroom is bigger...
2) there is Columia hospital within 2 blocks, so there are lots of residens doctors and nurses who live there
3) there are A LOT of police - if you walk for 3 minutes i guarantee you will see a cop car
4) i am SO SAFE there - i can walk around or from subway and 4 am - SAFELY... well the woret thing that can happen - they will yell - OOh nice Asss babe... THATS IT
i work on the park avenue - NOPE i wont walk after11-30 - always take a cab - koz ITS FUCKING SCARY...

and much more.. anyone whos been there - loved it..
(i know that washington heights and visotki might be a bit scary BUT- thats about 10 blocks away - and you dont go there...
again - to summ up i am a white young and singe girl... NOTHING has ever happened.. actually - i forgot a walt with shitload of cash and THEY RETURNED IT!! poor people who have little moneyy..butt some shit stole my bag right on the park avenue!

5) in my builing (koz rent controll - yahoo) are grandmas , who bake cookies all day and people with kids - NICE AND KIND....

he has - DOFIGA apartmens (many of them occupied forever by 100 years old people who unfortunatelly die( so they do repairss and rent it ALL THE TIME

i think he has DOFIGA NOW and leter and January....

call him... say its 3C)))))
i yelled at him yesterday, so i bet he still remembers what 3C it is))

call about 10-11
if not - leave a number - say it is a refferal re renting from 3C he WILL get back

electicity and gaz not - but its copeyki (letom more for air conditioners) but as im never home i done see the bills skyrock

i am "deep" deep deep in that yama as
1) came to the states 2 years ago with a suitcase, box of books and 1000 dollars)) now knowing a sole.
so it IS worth it and i didnt have money for the aprt - someone lended..and then things got better a bit ....:-)

i had NO credit history i think..

made very lieelt money (part time) so someone co-signed for me..
deposit - 1 rent...

beleive me! if you have noe credit or bad credit im sure youcan make a deal with him (like 2 rents)
actually - every time he losses a tenant he can raise the rent)))
so offiially he will be happy to get rid of you if you dont pay promptly))

i dint know that and asked him (when i thought that i will go to school) that i need 6 months lease ionstead of a year (mine expires febr) he said IF i get into harvard or yale - it will be his present to me - break the lease early...like i dont know why))) present - gimmy a break ! ass-hole..))))

1. Эти квартиры в apartment buildings, brownstone walk-up or private houses?

2. В 1_bedroom (как у Вас) комнаты изолированные или смежные? Полы паркетные или carpet?

3. Сколько времени у Вас занимает поездка на метро до, скажем,Village? Upper East Side (or East Side in general), etc.? Там ведь только А express, остальные все local, да? И насколько плохо эти поезда ходят (спросить "хорошо ли ходят" про НЙ сабвэй рука не поворачивается...;))

1) its a 5-6 stories aptmn buidling OLD - meaning very hight ceiings, long hallway, you walke into the apt - pruyamo kitchen - napravo hallway. kitchen has 2 dirki (no dverey's thank god)
then a humangous hall than a cubica hall where the 2nd kithcen entrance is..
then living room
then little hall-cube (closet - and one more in the hallway)
then nalevo batthrom naproavo spalnya...

the nly minus id say - not enough closets, well meybe its koz my previous NJ mension had 5!! including 2 huge walkins)))))) oh..those times :-) LOL

it is PARKET - i.e. harwood - i personally hate it)) but its parket..

and the comute is AWSOME! trains 1 9 and AC - on the A it is20!!! minutes to 34th penn station...

that is why i ove it - its close to FDR, close to riverside drive whatever parkway...
commute is the BEST ))) subway (i use a c mostly is OK - 10-15 miutes for sure harldy ever delays or stoppes in tunnels..
