Про Форт Росс в Калифорнии - хотят закрыть.

Помните Юнону и Авось - вот, все там происходило. Запостила в ]sfbayarea_ru - там предложили поместить и сюда.

В комментах поднялся вопрос, что значит закроют. Я не владею инфо - только сегодня узнала, но вот коммент из нашего местного сообщества:"Насколько я понял из sf chronicle, они закроют входы, никого пускать не будут, а парки будут минимально поддерживать (против пожаров, и т.д.)"

Знакомые прислали мэйл о том, что Форт Росс грозят закрыть. Для посылки подписанной петиции есть
срок - 10 июня! вот официальное Dear Russian-American community!

I have recently received some unfortuante news regarding Fort Ross
being on the list of potential closures due to the state budget
cut-backs. As you know, Fort Ross has been a monument to our Russian
history in California, as well as Russia. We have enjoyed it's
beauty, as well as it's significant contribution to our heritage.
Below is the letter outlining what we can do to try and save the park
from closure. And, I urge everyone to take action, whether it be by
signing the petition, writing a letter, and/or forwarding this email
to others on your list.

Obviously, you don't have to live in the San Francisco Bay Area or
California to have enjoyed coming to the park and being a part of it's
history. If you participated in any of the events throughout the
year, the services, the picnics, heritage days, or just came for a
visit to the park, you know how precious and meaningful the park is to
our culture and heritage.

Please take the time to take part in this community effort. Please
sign the petition and forward as noted below before June 10. Make
certain that you forward to your friends, family and organization's
lists.

Thank you for your help and contribution in helping save our history.
We will only fail, if we fail to write!

Congress of Russian Americans will also write a letter on behalf of
our organization. We encourage other organizations to do the same.

Ни один из наших парков практически не выживет на одну плату за посещение, т.к. плата за вход - это копейки по сравнению с тем, сколько тратится на содержание парков.
Вы можете послать пожертование непосредственно в Форт Рос, чтоб "реально" помочь...
Вариантов с субботниками в Штатах скорее всего никогда не будет... Нет тот "фасон"... :)
Если бы даже Форт и закрыли (что не похоже, судя по майской поправке к бюджету), то это было бы временно, а полагаю, пока дела не выправятся. Но и реально, почему американский штат должен вкладывать средства в поддержание русского культурного об'екта? Это все равно что, если закроют Japanese Tee garden, что в ГГ парке и японцы будут жутко возмущены...

ну это не столько часть русской истории, сколько американской. Они сами это говорят.
