Well, if understood correctly, you meant "Diamond Street"? If so, unless you share some business over there, you must be out of your mind to recommend to buy something real and new over there. It is like, to believe that those guys on that street whispering you their "best deals" on diamonds which they keep in their pockets, really trying to do you a favor and sell you the best possible diamonds. Or those guys with LV bags on the streets, they are selling real bags stolen form LV factory, aren't they?
Nope. I do not say that. But I say, that you better be sure who you buy from, because they will sure try to trick you if they see you do not know certain things. Simply they will sell you low quality diamonds for higher price, not mentioning bargains you get on the street, literally I mean. As for watches (and other expensive things), you better buy stuff from places with known reputation, warranty and decent looking store. Otherwise - go to Chinatown, cause if you don't care - why spend so much on the "same" products?
Look, buying anything in NYC requires some degree of business savvy -- be that cameras, watches, diamonds or fruits and vegetables. But if you know what you're doing, the prices can not be beat. Absolute majority of diamonds you see in the stores on East Coast are shipped from NYC, along with GIA or IGA certicates. They guy was asking about best prices. Diamond district is the undisputed king of best deals. If he asked about best buying experience, I would recommend Bal Harbor Mall.
OK. I asked for real new Rolex. I do not care where it comes from, as long as it is new and real (so Rolex will confirm authenticity of the purchase). For now I have not heard what I expected: "Go there, talk to this guy, I know him, he will sell you real stuff for the best price..." :)) As always in LJ people discuss THEIR problems...
Sorry about that, I was not actually commenting the original post. http://www.tourneau.com/ (Good thing - you can go and touch the toy, if you are in NYC). Pretty expensive, but well respected store. overstock.com - kinda inexpensive, but you better compare with similar and check if it is not yestermillenium model (if it matters) Plus, Google gives you about as usual million of links and you can find something useful if you pick right keywords.
But you better pay attention to the store quality/customer rating if you do it on-line. Check on return and warranty policy, because it is not good sign, if people are just selling stuff whitout taking care of the customers afterwards.
точно сказать не могу но есть сайты типа www.fatwallet.com, www.slickdeals.net, наверняка другие похожие есть, там народ обменивается инфой что и как лучше купить.
Amazon gift certs from Dealpass at 20% off (read fatwallet to find out how to get them). Amazon mostly fronts diamond.com jewelry and watches. Diamond.com's so-so prices become pretty interesting with that 20% discount.
